PLEASE NOTE The poster does not specify “president” from last year’s Constitution edition still in operation, nor does it bring in the currently proposed “governance & equity coordinator” which explicitly orients what the perspective the position takes.

Given the “6 candidates for 4 positions” CHALLENGE, the composite names in the proposed Constitution edition might come in handy in re-organizing the Executive Committee:

  • Academics & Funding
  • Communication & Management
  • Finance & Resources
  • Governance & Equity

How about:

  • Academics & Sustainability
  • Funding & Resources
  • Finance & Banking
  • Communication & Records
  • Equity & Internationalization
  • Governance & Access

Quoting OISE GSA message, which registered grad students received on April 11, 2017

Hello [your name]

You are registered to vote in OISE GRADUATE STUDENTS’ ASSOCIATION (GSA) ELECTIONS 2017. This ballot ends at 2017-04-17 23:59 Canada/Eastern.

To vote, please visit: https://oisegsa.simplyvoting.com/

Regards,
Graduate Students Association | OISE | University of Toronto

and my statement you’ll find there:

Dear OISE grad students,
With all the persistent work on OISE and UofT Councils/Committees, and my PhD-journey approaching completion, i have found every sense-making reason to keep on lobbying for the benefits of collectively deliberated rules to live by, a decisive move for sustainable Indigenous-Nonindigenous futures, and equitable governance of, by, and for minorities-constituted majorities.
Let us override the democracy-defeating under-4% voter turnout and invest OISEGSA elections with the Civic Agency we so-expensively learn-present-publish about! Come talk to us at the (All-)Candidates Meet-and-Greet(s) and on media, and make the student vision for OISE Academic Planning 2016-2020 a reality! Why.Not.Win.Together?!
